Has anyone built a guitar off the plans Kinkead provides in the book? Results?

If no one's built one, are there any comments/analyses/reactions to the plans?

Thanks very much.

I have built one OM so far in amoungst the dreds and I used Kinkades plan included in his book to make my mold and bending form....so the shape was his. It looked good.

We make a mold to fit the Kinkead pattern -- can't remember the last time we sold one? With all do respect for Scott Antez, I would think because the Kinkead design is built much lighter my guess (and it is just a guess) is that the Kinkead would be much more like a Martin sound wise.

Well Ken I thought mine turned out sounding a bit like a Martin. My great grandfather was Martin Sjostrand..... :>)
That was a joke.........
Everyone tells me my guitars sound just like a Sjostrand.

About three years ago I bought this book and built my first guitar from it, it turn out pretty good but left me with some questions about the building process in general. My second guitar was a KMG deep body OM, Ken answered many of the questions I had about building guitars and that guitar opened the door to what has turned out to be a passion and obsession. I'm now working on number 52, 53, 54, 55 and I attribute this to Ken's kit. I highly recommend Ken's kits to anyone wanting to learn how to build a nice sounding guitar- Thanks, Ken

As I've been on this forum a little while now. One thing keeps coming up in different threads. The " Build your own Acoustic Guitar" by Jonathan Kinkead. Tired of not being in the loop I ordered a copy off Amazon. It arrived today. Oh boy lots of cool stuff in there. So far I've mainly just looked at the pictures. But I'll give it a good read. That's for sure.

I caution that you take care using the info he's published. As I mention in my review, Jonathan totally misses the mark relative to rim geometry both top and back and as a mattter of fact he builds a "hump" into the fingerboard at the body/neck joint -- so his process is actually very "old school hobby" hit and miss, trial and error in those areas of construction methodology.
