So by stickering you mean, moisten the show side, suspend the back across a couple of sticks, and put a weight on it?

Moisten the side that is curved in, suspend the back across a MORE than couple of sticks, and put a weight on it. You still want air to circulate on both sides. The idea when wood gets wet it expands. When your plate potato chipped only one side either got wet or dry. I am suggesting a method first for equalizing the moisture and then holding the plate flat while it equalizes. It is not a one day process maybe a week or so.Dave Bagwill wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 10:50 am So by stickering you mean, moisten the show side, suspend the back across a couple of sticks, and put a weight on it?
Herman's suggestion uses heat and steam to quicken the process.
