LMI - - - look under 'teflon strip'. There's three sizes. I've used it several times, quite happily.

Re: Adding purfling to bent bindings

Stupid question: dimensions .079" x .094" thick - is the .079 the 'height' or the 'depth'? IOW if you wanted a strip the same thickness as your bindings, which is .080", would that be the .079" ?
This strip will be used below the bindings on the sides.

Re: Adding purfling to bent bindings
Good question. I used the smallest of the three choices. The stuff I got was smooth on one pair of sides and showed evidence of cutting on the other two, but if the strip is more-or-less square in cross-section I think it wouldn't much matter which edge is used for height. It sure made it easy to insert purfling below the binding proper.

Re: Adding purfling to bent bindings
I tried a different approach and it worked fine as well.
The key is thick CA, with a longer working time. I laid the binding on the bench, and about 6" at a time I applied a very thin bead of the CA to the binding, and then pressed the purfling on and sprayed with accelerator.
The thick CA does not run all over the place, so the process was not sloppy, and the cleanup very minimal.
I used a wooden skewer to apply, and a razor blade to smooth the surfaces. Will glue on tomorrow.

Glutton for punishment. I was too lazy. In my defense the purfling I used was multilayered.
