gorgeous work! So that pickup also has an internal microphone? Is there a way to mix between the under the saddle and the microphone?

Thanks John. No that is a volume wheel. I didn’t want to risk getting finish on so it’s just taped out of the way.

Thanks John.

Slow progress with the holidays, but I have done a bit. The neck attachment is similar to the Gore/Gilet bolt on. This differs in a couple of ways. The heel profile has to be at its final shape and sanded to a nearly finish state. The tenon is tapered from just underneath the top bolt hole to the bottom of the tenon. And since the fingerboard extension is not bolted down, but is free floating, it too has a slight taper to the underside.

Then I bolt it up and check for angle and center. Then I’ll use a new scalpel blade to scribe the heel outline on the body.

Then I oh so carefully rout out the heel pocket, finishing with a sharp chisel. I then deepen the neck pocket slightly from just below the top bolt hole to the bottom of the heel. This allows for movement.

A final fitting and I can finish shape the neck.

Wow, That work looks really good. I like the neck design. Look forward to seeing this guitar complete.
