Dave, I don't know. It is hard to tell if this guitar would sound very different with a X bracing.
I made a few OM guitars, so a new goal could be an OM with V bracing. That could tell me something.
None of you tried the V thing?

I did two guitars with the reversed 'V' bracing that Lutaio Mattolo uses - like the old Tacoma bracing. I liked the results, though it made for a more 'jazzy' tone and the sustain is a bit shorter.
An OM with 'V' - I'll make the call and name it OM-V sounds like a great experiment.
