John and Ken, I
I appreciate the feedback. I'll work on it from this end. I can click the links to each of the three photos and each one comes up fine on my phone. This is just a learning curve on my end I'm afraid.
Best regards,
Kim

Without pictures I can't offer informed advice, but generally a board like that is slab cut. So the lamination is made with book matched pieces to get the best vertical grain convergence pattern. Adding a contrasting stripe will look nice. Forget the scarf joint. Make your billet/blank about 25x4x4

Ken, you are doing a marvelous job of keeping me updated and I'm slowly working through your suggestions. I am grateful for you sticking with me.
I'm trainable most times.

Ken, as you can see in my Attached photos (I hope they are there now) that your assumption is spot on. The board is slab sawn and I have enough width to make a mirror image for lamination with a third contrasting stripe.

By my calculation you should easily get 3 necks from that piece.

Tim, I'd be content to just get one and move my project along.
