Ok, thanks. I've done that with bindings, haven't had to worry about a rosette for awhile though.

Dave, is it on the right side? Might you be able to cover it with a pick guard?

Alas and alack, it is on the other side, where a pickguard might conceivably look odd.
To make matters worse, my camera dropped into the gap and is gone.
I believe Tom and I will come up with something that looks very nice.

Can you just fill it dark? It seems like anything other than routing a new purfling line will make else will make it pop.

That's probably the way to go. Routing a new channel for some purfling, in my universe, would never happen, :-)

Oh duh on me -- I see now, I thought I was looking at rings around the sound hole. Yeah I agree dark filler is the best bet.
