Sorry John, I made a few with it, but it does not look like cocobolo.

While I have seen Brazilian that looks like the board in question -- all the Coco I've had in the shop (not any more I am allergic to it) and all the stock at LL Johnson where we get much of our exotic material looks just like Herman's fingerboard -- of course that means and proves exactly nothing -- just saying.

John, did you consider madagascar rosewood? These orange parts looks like this kind of wood to me.

One thing I learned researching this is looks wise all rosewood is all over the map. Each genius do have some characteristics, but with much variability. Look at the include picture, both the top and and the back bindings are cocobolo ordered at the same time. If you look at the back binding you can sort of see some of the color from my mystery wood. But look at the difference between the two bindings!

Looks like shedua but It has a very strong rosewood smell. I am pretty sure it is cocobolo.
