That's a great article by Ford. Pay particular attention to the part about round off the sharp edges because they are. I'm glad I read the article before I put the vises into service or I know i would have dinged something bad. I'd forgotten I had even done that.

Great information guy's this is so like the kind of stuff we need to work with, information you just can't hardly get anywhere else. I love it!
I've seen a LOT of talk about these vices but NEVER has the sharp edges been mentioned!

Get it from Grizzley for half the price of shopfox. Afterall, grizzly is one of us, he makes guitars, so support him so maybe he'll come up with more limited use but helpful tools. Now if we could only get these guys to make it in America.... (Mine came quickly and with the extra parts I ordered...no complaints about this guy)

Thanks! What do you se your green vice for most of the time...what will it do that the parrot won't?

I have both,

I tend to use the repair vice way more than the parrot.The repair vice I have has the nice soft face. It conforms to any angle without the inserts. It is a bit deeper.

Whenever I need a vice for a guitar part it just looks like the one I need.
