That is a real nice site, Dave. One to keep. The pickupssamples on this site sound quite the way in real life for the ones I have.

Last week the L.R.Baggs got into the guitar. I had not the time to try all the settings of the system itself. Downside, in my opinion, is that is sounds a bit flatter and has a bit more emphasis for the mids than the unamplified guitar. Upside is that it sound more natural than the piezo's I used. They have a far more "Hifi"-type of sound. But again, I did not try all the possible settings on the pickup and amp.
The owner took the guitar and he will send me some recordings soon. I'll post.

I've used the Lyric on five guitars and after a little tweaking, I'm pretty happy with the sound. What I and others have found is that most find that you need to turn the Present switch down ( counterclockwise). I run mine thru a Aura preamp, my wife runs hers straight thru a Fishman Loubox Artist amp, they're working well for us. I did replace a Lyric with a Anthem on a guitar that I sold to a musician who from time to time plays in a group with a lot of electric guitars, the Lyric couldn't compete with the electric guitars volume wise, the Anthem solved the issue and the player is happy with the switch. I ran this by the Baggs techs and they agreed that the Lyric wasn't meant to compete with electric guitars. Hope this helps.

Correction on the above post, I meant to say that I run my Lyric through Venue DI not a Aura.

Now that I've heard a few more of these LL Baggs Lyric pick ups -- I am a convert. The Anthem is nice too, but I'd I rather not deal with the under saddle "piezo bark" at all. For about $200 with a pre-amp, volume and presence (treble boost/cut) control seems like a real good deal. Non intrusive as well.

This is a pretty good comparison video -- I liked that he has all three products installed on the same guitar.
