I'm not complaining but this has been a busy year. I did finally get some time to work on the J-200. Here are a few pictures of the progress.

I happened upon a back strip that had maple and walnut chevrons. They were made to go on this back so I had to order two of them. I made a makeshift jig to joint them. The rubber bands apply downward pressure while also pulling the strips towards the back halve which is held in position with clamps to create a tight joint.

Thanks Kevin!! Makes me feel good when a builder like you likes my work. I've learned a lot watching your EIR Dread log. I'm getting close to being tooled up and hope to be scratch building soon.

Yep, it's Zipflex. It a little more expensive than regular shell but so easy to work with it's just about worth the price.

I really like the look of Paua Abalone on a guitar.
