At a construction site where my Dad was working, just stopped by to tell him I was on my way to a gig...just outside San Diego, Ca. 1957

With a straightedge laid across the frets, there is a 1/8" clearance where the movable bridge is placed.
The guitar was always played lap-style with a nut riser (!) and a slide.
Kent would like to have this set up to play in a regular position, perhaps with action just high enough to enable a slide on the finger and still fret somewhat easily.

How could I make that happen on this guitar?

Exactly why those guitars are found in closets not on stage -- it needs a neck set. A considerable amount at that!

And I suppose it is a dove-tail to boot.
If I remove it I may change it to a bolt-on, except working through those f-holes would be too big a challenge.

Oh yeah -- a DT with about a pound of hide glue jammed in there. Got a picture of the joint?

No pic at this time, when I get one I will post it up.

The bottom of the heel cheeks has pulled away from the body about 1/16" inch.

What do you think of converting it to a bolt-on?
