You don't need SuperSoft. Any veneer softener will work.

If only 'any' veneer softener was available here, I've searched (googled) til I'm blue in the face.

Ah that's interesting, much appreciated if you could Tony?

Thanks for that Ken.

It seems to made of Diethylene Glycol Monoethyl Ether if I'm reading it correctly - so I'm not that likely to be able to synthesise it myself!

I have found a supplier here in the UK, but they seem to supply 2 different chemical formulations of the same chemical name, one is CH3OCH2CH2OCH2CH2OH http://www.sigmaaldrich.com/catalog/pro ... &region=GB and the other is C2H5OCH2CH2OCH2CH2OH http://www.sigmaaldrich.com/catalog/pro ... &region=GB so God only knows which formulation the SuperSoft company use.

This product is also more than twice the price of SS2 that's available in the States!

As an aside, Tony has put me in touch with a guy in Scotland who imported a gallon of SS2, so he may be willing to sell me a pint or so :)
