Re: Copy machine
Ok, as mentioned in another thread, I just had the barn roofed so's it does not leak on everything, and this gives me some good usable space. I can clean a lot of the stuff out of my small humidified construction area. And - and yes, I expect no end of flak from this statement - I now have room to actually set the copy carver on a stable surface and rev 'er up again. What I'm doing first is replacing the rails with metal - the router bit and the follower have to ride exactly in sync, and the wood rails etc. just gave a little too much wiggle room. So I'll keep you posted. Of course, it may take a little time....:-)

Re: Copy machine
The hardware holding the router in place looks familiar - like something I've seen that is made for another use. Does it ring any bells?

Re: Copy machine
Ok, yeah, I'm back on this.
I did some fine-tuning of the set-up, and tightened up some tolerances on the sloppy work I did in a couple of areas. I think we're ready for another test - I think I'll try a bridge first and if all work out well, go straight to copying as much of a neck as the machine is able to do.
