I would like to hear about your sharpening process. It's definitely something I need to improve on.

Keep those photos coming Daniel - they're really great. Awesome work so far! Looking forward to seeing more of them as you close the box and move to the next stage.

Hopefully I'll get the top braces inlet into the side this weekend, and maybe the top glued on.
Made it up to Grizzly today, to check out some of the purfling they offer. I found some fine rope purfling that I may use on this 00-12 build. At first I was planning to use regular herringbone, but this might be a nice compliment to the herringbone rosette without over doing it.

Closing the box today/tonight - its been cold an dry for a few days, and reading that its better to do glue ups when the humidity is down I took advantage of a day off.
First the top, signed and dated the underside, and did a last little bit of sanding on the braces. I know, it may not sound different, but I want it buttoned up nicely, so that if anyone does ever get inside this guitar, every detail is in place.
Once dry I cut the truss rod clearance in the top, and used a fresh/sharp flush trim bit in a laminate trimmer to clean up the overhang. Carefully following the routing direction guidelines for where to climb cut paid off - no tear out, and everything looks good.
The back is on now, and I'll let that dry overnight.
Photos to come soon.

Two useful tools - transparent Omnigrid ruler, so easy to see whats going on. And a little Incra t-rule for precision marking with a mechanical pencil.
Here I'm marking where to cut the brace notches in the rim:

One last adjustment before closing the box - just had this urge to thin the popsicle brace a little more...

Glueing the top at last.
The rubber bands I had on hand were not providing enough clamping force at all points, so I opted to do the glue up with clamps - never enough.
