Pretty nice Dave. You are screaming through this build.

I'd originally thought that I would not even put a finish on it - I was only concerned about the design stability and the sound so's I could get on to the 'real' build - but what the heck, a quick and easy finish is probably a good thing, even for a 'shop' guitar. But nothing fancy. I must say, that building without being real concerned about the final 'look' is a tremendously freeing way to do it. For me anywhoo.

Only had time to put on one coat of zinsser seal coat - then let it dry a couple of hours and then take it off with steel wool. The wool is used because it will not remove wood, so it leaves only the shellac in the pores. This is after one coat, as you can see there are pores remaining so a second coat will be needed. Very easy process.

The tortoise binding takes a little attention in order to get rid of the sharp edges, but a razor blade with a little angle to it can put on a very nice bevel with a little attention. Scratches come out with a little 000 steel wood, and the bindings start to really shine.

Second coat of sealcoat applied, dried, rubbed off. Ready for finishing.

A few views of the top with two coats of SATIN wipe-on poly.
Satin is underwhelming in a picture, but it is just exactly what I want 'in person'. It absorbs the light. This will need to be lightly buffed.
I'll put on a couple of more coats, call it Jake (naming it??).

That finish looks really good and very professional looking I must say. Your you tube video on true oil was very informative. Amazing what expierienced hands can do!
