sorry guys, thought I was doing so well. I made my X joint a right angle, but on the plan it actually isn't. Can I proceed with the cross where it should be? Annoyed now, another mistake from not following the instructions EXACTLY!

Looks like you can rotate it evenly on the center line without ill affects. The issue would be the bridge pin hole location too close to the brace, but you are OK. Since the spread of the lower legs is less, I'd add a extra finger brace on each side -- just a structure thing to prevent cracks.

great, that's what I hoped. I think I need to go back to printing each section of the instructions, much easier not to miss a bit than doing it straight off my 8" computer screen.

The braces would flex slightly into their correct position but I don't think I'd want to build that stress into the structure. This pic shows the inaccuracy, at an inch and a half in from the edge of the soundboard it's 4-5 sixteenths off.

The braces ahave not currently got a shape/contour marked onto them, shall I go with the standard L-00 pattern or something more like traditional scalloped braces? The Nick lucas models used all sorts including ladder bracing but haven't found any pics. Tempted to shape more like an lg-2 or my SJ jumbo as it's not really going to sound like a vintage l-00. Any thoughts people?

Do not twist, bend, spread the braces in anyway. Glue them to the SB in the angle formed.

Am going slow and steady on my top bracing.

Went to BandQ (think it's like your Homedepot just much more expensive like everything else over here) Got a nice bag of basic squeezy plastic clamps, a stanley coping saw which has GOT to be better than my last one, epoxy and some good sandpaper as the stuff i'd got was utter rubbish.

Anyway, rims are done! Pretty pleased. I've cut my bridgeplate with the mitre box and with my redesigned X brace, the angle is now an easy 45 degrees. Also cut my bridgeplate clamping caul. Have to move all my stuff out of the box room as we've got visitors coming so probably a small building hiatus.

Just to paint the picture for you I'm building most of this sat on the floor and in the corner are two 10 day old chicks in a plastic box keeping me company.
