Have a progress report on the thickness sander. My buddy came over we worked on it a few hrs got a lot accomplished. Checked out another Sander online that he looked up last nite to give him some idea of what we were doing. But were sticking to the plans I got. We understand more of how it works now. I laughed because we used nearly every power tool and hand tool I have. Just adding the adjusting mechanism tomorrow. Everything coming out level square and plumb. So far so good.

Good for you Lonnie, that's quite a project.

To be honest Dave I would really rather be working on a guitar. But gotta have one of these. It sure turned into more then I expected. But I ended up with a much more powerful motor. It's sitting out in the shop and even Carol says hey that's cool looking.

Well I haven't taken any yet. As I just got started and my wife got injured. So I had to put it on the back burner. Let's see we have the base of the table. Stuck the main strut up today got the bearings seated. Installed some conduit in the table top(the one covered with Formica) it acts as a pivot as the front of the table pivots up to the Drum. Tomorrow we have to cut out the drum. Using Red Oak 3 1/2" rounds all glued together to make up 22 inches long. With a 3/4 inch coarse threaded rod running through them. A pully on the rod as well. Tomorrow we should finish it. I'll take pictures then when it looks like something. Right now it requires too much imagination. It really don't look like much. But I will post some pics that's for sure.

I hope this posts. I have more trouble with pics. Any way this is the bare table. The bearings are seated we cut out the disks. Glueing them together putting them on the rod and will sand them smooth using the sander itself.
