I got the top sanded and sealed and have pore filled the body (System 3 SB-112 epoxy). That has dried and I am spraying now. This will be my first with Cardinal Nitro Lacquer. First impression is the "after smell" is less intense that with the Mohawk I have used in the past. But I've only sprayed the vinyl sealer so far.

Yes. Only pore fill method I've used since I've been building ( I have some Timbermate but haven't tried it yet). The wood is beautiful. The grain swirls through. It really came out after sanding it. And the box has a beautiful sustained tone when tapped. Hope that translates when strung up.

Here it is with 12 coats of nitro lacquer. Tomorrow I will level sand with 600, spray 3 more coats and let it cure for a week before final wet sanding and buffing out. The Cardinal Lacquer is supposed to harden in 7 days compared to other formulas (3-4 weeks). WE SHALL SEE.
