Hey Kevin, glad to hear of the progress. Always a good feeling when we get a good finish coat sprayed. Where in California do you get your laquer?

I get mine from LMII, not too far from Sonoma County to Butte County. It used to take a day with UPS but now with the included shipping fee it's taken 3 days or more with USPS.

Well the last time I bought lacquer I got it from Westlund Distributing in Minnesota. That was in 2013.
Just this past weekend I ordered 3 gallons from them again. Mohawk Stringed Instrument Lacquer; the same as Belhens.
Price is under $38 a gallon and shipping for 3 cans was 12.95. You can't beat that. Here in California its hard to get gallon cans of lacquer other than LMI and you will pay alot more.
I like the Mohawk. Very slight amber to it, its not water white. I also got the order in 4 days. I recommend them. They also have the reducer, retarder, etc. Colored lacquers, spray cans for a little over $6 a can.

Thanks guys, the last time I looked into getting laquer, they would not ship to California. I think I will give Westlund a shot.

Yeah no issue Jim. I got the lacquer quickly too. I do have one gallon backordered with them, so if you order there may be a few days delay.

Not much to see but I've started wet sanding this guitar. I flat sanded it to 2000 grit. Its now ready for the buffing wheels. I refit the neck and I am leveling and recrowning the frets. I have about 2mm with a straight edge above the saddle slot on the bridge Probably okay. I haven't done this in about 3 years. Is that about right?
