Stik 'N Seal. Seems to have worked okay.

Robbie O just posted how to cut binding channels by hand with THAT gramil today!
Perhaps I will get one for Christmas if I post a large picture of the tool on the front of the frigerator.

I think the best use of the gramil is as preparation for the channel cutting via a tower or one of Ken's tools. This cedar top and the mahogany b+s are both very prone to chipping, so cutting the fibers with the gramil before going to the power tool gives a little extra insurance against that chipping.

This is the first time I've used plastic bindings, but since this is an experimental guitar made with cheap woods, I'm trying a lot of new stuff. Does this faux tortoise get sanded and all, just like a wood binding?

Yes. You would sand, or scrape the plastic bindings just like wood ones. Scraping works better because it does not leave the sanding scratches that paper does. I used it on my cheapo ukulele build. Works pretty well and cleans up easily.

I cut the saddle slot in the bridge, then thought I might as well show my reliable but low-tech method.

Sanded, ready for pore-filling tomorrow a.m., and finishing starting in the p.m.
