There is a great tutorial on applying epoxy pore fillers by Todd Stock on YouTube. Apply thin coats and sand back. If your seeing shiny spots, the surface is not flat. Sanding now and making it right will save a lot of headaches when applying the finish. Another note about zpoxy, if you don't sand back to bare wood make sure you don't have any sand through areas in the zpoxy. They show in the finish.

Here's a good Z poxy tutor
Note Zpoxy does take time to harden and it is affected by the weather.

Rusty's PL 29 Antes Parlor/ Nesk Angle

Progress has been slow due to a heatwave we are experiencing and my decision to enjoy as much sun as is possible here in Ireland. Thankfully Irish heatwaves are a little different to, say California, as we have a nice cool breeze that helps keep things moderated but we are still in the 80s, and thats very rare here.
But, back to reality with a bang. I have been trying to anticipate problems before they arise with my Parlor build and heres the latest one I see coming in the distance.
I have the box closed, experimented a little with zpoxy pore filler , got the fingerboard inlaid and shaped, and the bridge ready. I dont have the frets in yet.
I laid a straight edge along the top of the un fretted fingerboard to roughly around where the bridge will sit. AS you can see by the pics its not what I was expecting. Given that when the frets are fitted it will lift the straight edge a little more, I still cant see this coming right without some heel shaving to tilt the neck back enough to get the straight edge over the bridge to where it should be. Its a bolt on neck and right now sits completely flush to the body
Hope I'm explaining this correctly.

I know I should know the answer to that question Ken, and I know that sounds like a dumb answer but, its the pre serviced kit and even though I did try to keep everything level etc when building it it now would appear that things did not work out as well as I thought, as otherwise I would not be having this problem. I used the mega mold for the first time and all seemed fine there, so maybe this is not as big a problem as i think ? hopefully !! The straight answer to your question is I dont know and was just happy to keep building while everything looked ok. I'm assuming I messed up somewhere ?
