Re: Martin 00 12 Fret - cutaway with arm bevel #12

Dave, there is blood all over this guitar. I had more small mishaps with tools on this one then on most of my builds. I did learn that if you have a scalpel with a brand new sharp blade, put it down while messing around moving clamps. The skin provides absolutely no resistance to those blades. That was my first injury where there were actually squirts.

I did finally get the fussy work done. I put the ramps in at the end of the slots. I was going to go with square ramps but after looking at a few on the net, I was not sure I cared for the look. I also added some dots on to the top and side of the fret board.

I had a bit more time so I finished the day by cutting and installing my logo.

Next weekend I should be able to start the finish process.

Thanks for all of the kind comments. Sorry for so many pictures, I am getting really excited. I pore filled the back, sides and neck with Zpoxy and finished sanded the top, so once I place the bridge I am ready to spray.

I am getting very close to finishing this guitar. I should have it setup by Friday or Saturday. I could not wait to post a preview from my phone camera.

John,

This is a simply elegant looking instrument. I especially like the slotted headstock. It is just the right balance for the size of the body, and the small scale detail it adds makes the small end of the guitar as interesting to look at as the big end. Congratulations.

At the beginning of the build you said you were going to document the Gore/Gilet characteristics as you went along. How did that come out?
John
