I got this old DAK monoral Mp3 & Wave Editor, an extinct $20 software that won't work on Windows 10. It's on an old box in the basement along with what John Parchem tells me is an old Microsoft voice mic (photo). The Family Technical Expert is in Austin, TX so what you get from southern Michigan is the OldFudWare.

Well, if I post this maybe Kevin will send completed photos and sound file of that splendid dread he's been building for his son-in-law, way above my pay grade.

I've been waiting for the client who wanted #8 to send me a sound file, but he's a Facebook guy and I'm not. He sent a couple video files but I couldn't hear them. Emailed him back, told him to just use the voice recorder on his phone and make me some short recordings.

I've been sending out music every week for most of the year since live music died, using a $20 Mp3 & Wave Editor that will only work on an obsolete version of Windows on a box down in the basement. It's low fidelity, but it's music.

Randy, a local veterinary, went me one better in quick n dirty recording by emailing me him playing and singing Jean Ritchie's The L&N Doesn't Stop Here Anymore by using the Voice Memo utility of his iPhone.

I told the cutaway owner to make me some files the same way, and two days ago got 6 .m4a files. The sound, of course, is less than could be desired, but you can get an idea of his skill and the sound of my #8 build. Attached, db_Devil Went To Georgia .m4a file.

And he told me “It's got more mid and bass than all my other acoustics, it's the best sounding one”, and that's pretty gratifying. Also attaching photo of the guitar hanging in his guitar room.

Keep safe out there and keep making music.

That WAS a fun recording. With headphones I could really tell there is quality tone there. Congrats!
Wish I had a music room like that!
