Very few few finishes you can take a shot of while you put a shot on the guitar and so on... :>) looking GOOD!
Did you use a 21" scale?

Ray this is a 20" scale. I've really enjoyed doing french polish on this. I'm done on the body, and getting close to done on the neck. It's not perfect but it is the nicest looking finish I've done so far. It gives the mahogany alot of depth. I'm contemplating weather or not to use FP on guitars from now on. I know its not suppose to hold up as well but it has used on classicals so long, why not on a steel string?

IT looks very good Kyle...I think it depends on the environment it will live in...Honky Tonks are not a good place for these kinds of finishes for the most part...but I know some insist on the top at least..still, environment is a real clue...french polish is not known for spilled booze...dropped (Or thrown) beer bottles thru chicken wire fences...(That part was for Deadedith, bein' I'm a "Country Boy" with the BIG hat and all that Hahahaha :>)) or just rough handling in general, but the up side is it has the Old used vibe sooner...so who knows...sound better? Like Ken says a lot...there may be a dog or two who can tell the difference but I'm blind in one ear and can't hear out of the other...so it wouldn't matter with me!

Great Job though...I LOVE the look! Was that exactly 20" or would it really turn out to be a fraction Kyle...like 20.35 or 20.5 ?...confusing to me...maybe it's my bloodshot eyes... or the shade from the big hat...hehehehe

Still can't wait til it's finished.

Thanks
Ray

Ray - you will have to trust me on this: I've never seen a picture of you, did not know if you wore a hat down low, did not know you ever played behind chicken wire, was not even thinking of you when I wrote that post! I was just having fun - That's the facts, brother! There was no offense meant AT ALL.
So I hope we're cool Ray!
