Joe you may not know this, but if you hold the dvd just right and give it a rap with a knuckle, it makes no note whatsoever. I tried for days....I had better luck tapping my cat - now HE made some notes, I'll tell ya!

Dave, I had the same experience, just a dull nothingness. Then, I started shaving the shiny stuff off about 1/2 inch at a time and checked the frequency with my Strobe tuner. When about a quarter of the shiny stuff was gone, I had a clear "C" note!! Then I took 3 more DVDs and tuned them to Am, F, and G. Then I drilled a 1/64" hole, exactly 1/32" in from the outside edge and tied 2 lb test fishing line to each. I made the lines different length, but where each DVD could touch at least one other DVD. I hung them in front of my fan and now they can play Last Kiss (old 50s/60s song) and Mrs Brown You've Got A Lovey Daughter by Herman's Hermits!!

Joe!!! Way to step up, guy!! :-)
Gotta love the Hermits; there may be a few on this Forum who have not had the pleasure.
