A luthier friend I met online sent it to me. We had been discussing wood rosettes and he came across that wood, asked if I wanted some, I said yes, and the rest is history. I only have enough for one more solid ring. Any future rosettes I make with this wood after that will have to be tiled. I have considered using it as purfling, but it is pretty crumbly so I don't think it will survive being cut into such thin strips. I would have to use half inch long, 1/16th" wide pieces and that would be tedious!
