Re: Trim router

I just bought a HF router and I'm trying to figure out how to attach the KMG trimmer attachment to it. Am I correct in that I have to cut off the two plastic tabs on the base so that I can center the attachment over the 1/4" cutter bit? I really don't want to narrow the width of the attachment foot to fit between the tabs.
Also the two holes that need to be drilled to bolt the attachment to the router base are 2 1/2" apart (center to center). This presents a problem because the vertical walls of the router base are approximately 2 1/2" apart and this would interfere with adding the locking nuts. What solution have you guys come up with here? Is there a glue that would hold the attachment to the router base? Hope my questions & concerns makes sense.
