9" is a problem --- when we were making furniture I had a high speed steel "zillion tooth plywood blade" in our radial arm saw for cross cutting -- the end grain cuts were smooth as glass.

I noticed in the tutorial by DHLuthiery on the forum that he used a table saw, so I guess it could be done, though?
OTOH the miter saw would cut those angles more easily than shims in a table saw sled, right?

I guess I don't understand -- a miter saw or a slider can only cut full depth, so how would you make a tenon?

The miter saws I am looking at actually have a functional depth adjustment, and also slides.
