How are you accounting for the spherical shape of the contoured back plate?

Once the sides are trimmed, I will trace their outline onto the joined and braced back, because the back will be a little bit larger than an unwedged guitar. Then using blocks and shims in the megamold, I will get the plane of the rims where it needs to be and use the radius bar.

Just waiting to see how your methodology works out (not clear to me) -- don't forget that the highest point on the back side edge of the rim is the inner most waist curve apex.

Hey Dave. Ditto to Ken, I don't see your method and its trouble. Friend Kevin wrote in september that his view would be simple. So mine too. If I would encounter this: I would glue the top on and draw a line to the side, half an inch from where I want the back to attach the side. Then I would use the radius sanding disk to see where the high spots are, and plane the excess off.
After that as usual.

Maybe a simple minded solution, but hey,you know me.

What???? You've never braced a piece of pegboard with pieces of poplar that came off a tree that almost crushed your house? Sure you haven't....sure... :-)
