Used my chisel on the back braces Saturday. Worked great, so much easier carving the scallops over using a straight chisel.
If you don't already have one, I highly recommend you getting the curved chisel.

Two Cherries curved chisel
Re: Two Cherries curved chisel
The Two Cherries bent chisel was the first chisel I purchased during my first build. It's my favorite chisel for carving braces, way easier than a straight chisel for me. I did buy a few vintage ''user'' chisels from a guy in MA (cape Cod) E bay user name( wilpowah) and every thing I bought from him has been sharpened and honed and cuts beautifully. Jack.
Re: Two Cherries curved chisel
Glad to hear your success story. I just love it when a plan comes together. I haven't had the opportunity to use my two cherries chisel. But with my wife on the road to recovery and warmer weather just around the corner. I'll be at it in no time. Hmm? Why do they call it two cherries chisel again? I forgot.
Re: Two Cherries curved chisel
I've been free hand honing my 16mm Two Cherries, which is OK.
Have any of you found a honing guide setup that works well with the bent chisels?

The Two Cherries are from a German manufactor in Remscheid. Making since 1858 woodworking tools under the brandname "Kirschen" i.e. German for "cherries"

Lonnie, you really need to visit Germany soon. This way you're not going to find Kirschwasser.
