Re: L-00 Kmg walnut-spruce log and very basic questions thre
here's my fretboard sat in place, am pretty pleased with it. Pretty sure the frets are nicely seated but i guess i won't be sure until it's glued on and i come to start fret dressing.

Re: L-00 Kmg walnut-spruce log and very basic questions thre
went with some mini cauls to sit above the cauls supplied to fit the neck curve, secured with G clams and then as many large spring clamps directly on the neck and FB as i could fit on.
Scraped the glue pretty thin on both surfaces so i don't have squeeze out on every bit the edge of the fretboard, hope i put enough on. Worried it's very fractionally off center, it's hard to tell as the oversize edges of the neck are slightly uneven, 14th fret is bang on the joint though so fingers crossed!

I am wondering why you did not follow the instructions? There should be a full length backer board in the kit to prevent warps. I don't understand -- you have control of where it centers and its suppposed to be pinned?

I think I'm over-worrying about the centering, I did pin it but I suspect it can still move a tiny bit.
There is a tapered piece of MDF but it was flat on both sides and the instructions referred to a radiused caul which is why I thought i should have radiused it against the unfretted board and I couldn't think of another way of putting a radius on it.

You just build up the edges with tape, wood, rod or what ever -- just like for the fretting operation. I believe that is mentioned somewhere in the manual.

Re: L-00 Kmg walnut-spruce log and very basic questions thre
doesn't appear to be any warping- phew.
Thanks for the wire Ken, all fret on and looking lovely, 7th seems to a little higher than the others but seems to be well seated so moving on to the fret dressing I think.
Neck shaping done, very pleased, quite chunky v profile based loosely on my modern national neck and sanded down to 180, feels nice and smooth.
I've got a little chipping around the tuner holes annoyingly, despite using a ply backing board. very small, shall i just use filler?

Chips that won't be covered by the tuner hardware?
