Re: router bit for top
I was searching around a bit and found a reasonably priced downcut spiral bit with bearings. It is from yonico co. Both on ebay and Amazon. 17.00 or so. Any body used this brand before? One always wonders when things are cheaper than others of the same type of tool.
Re: router bit for top
To the point -- there are many junk sellers out there. Cast/powder carbide bits fall into this catgory even Amana bits, these can/will shatter if dropped on a concrete floor. And of course HHS, which OK but they dull quickly. The Professional bits from BAM I recommend over and over, are made from solid "carbide rod" right here in the USA. The price is right and I doubt you'll find a better quality bit at any price.

Re: router bit for top
Well I did try the downspiral bit and it works wonderfully. And I also trimmed the overhang to 1/8 before routing. and that helps also. thanks guys for all your input.
