.060" is common - however there are no rules. I've seen many creative edges "looks" using multiple binding colors and patterns.

Thanks, everybody. And Ken, thanks for the dimension. That was a guess of mine, 1/16" or so and observe the results. I have noticed that contrasting fretboard bindings vary a great deal in width; intuitive guess is that the same-material bindings might do the same.
