Router is probably way too fast. Instructions for the Woodtek have max RPM of 4500?

Yes thats what I use. Works well but i already have a problem where one of the screw heads that attaches the cutters has rounded and i will have a lot of trouble getting that cutter out to sharpen it not. I would buy another if it can be done because i find them a good tool but you really have to concentrate and understand the advise given by robbioe o brien and others about using it.
Oh, and make the jig--its pointless otherwise as the chips and sawdust will just build up behind it and clog up

Works best with a separated fence. The video by O' Brien is pretty straightforward and that method works well.
