Wow that Purple Heart really sets off the Abalone in the rosette. Sweet.

I also think it brings out a bit of the violet in the top wood. I'm trying to decide between wenge bindings or Purple Heart. Wondering if that would be too much purple.

Just for getting that picture. This is the maple guitar with purpleheart binding I made 8 years ago.
You got to like it, but definitely different from other guitars out there.

I went with wenge. I was going to try to make a thin purple heart purfling for the top, but had no luck trying to bend the tiny strips. There's some purple in the tail wedge as well so I'm thinking that's enough.

Excellent choices.
Wengé fingerboard? Way underrated imo.

Yes it's wenge. I love the grain. It's my first attempt at a bound fretboard. I'm planning to cut to length, then radius (hand sanding with a radius block - 16'). Or does one normally radius before binding?
