Acoustic Guitar Construction

My next sticking point is deciding what truss rod to use, so that I can size and plate my truss rod access hole properly in the deck block.

I'm happy to use a Martin u-shaped aluminum truss rod, but I'm only seeing the longer style intended for use on 14 fret instruments with a length of 14-1/4".

I see a select number of truss rods that indicate that they are intended for 12 fret guitars that are closer to the 12 - 12 1/2" length.

The longer will work just fine -- just prep the sound board to match.

Thank you Ken - I should have realized it would be just as I did on my KMG build.

I'm about to start an OO build too and had the same question. Problem solved! Thanks boys.
