Would it work as a stand-alone product for side bending? Spray on, bend the side then heat and cool to set?

Ken, I know this thread is a bit old, but I'm about to embark on bending myself. I have a pair of sides that have some rippling in them from top to back it's wavy. I'm wondering if I do what you did - use super soft, heat and cool 15 minutes twice, then let them cool - would work in this case. It's figured bubinga.
Thanks,
Bob

Figured wood can be a crap shoot SS won't hurt -- chances are the material you have is not 1/4 sawn, if that is the case it will be prone to waves. Compressing it against the form is the most improtant factor -- keeping the material flat. Double heat and cool is a good idea too. But if its not flat it will matter not. I would not try to bend it if its thicker than .080"

It would probably work just fine. I'm sorry about those ripples by the way. I'm the hack who bent the rippled sides for those of you playing along at home. I am calling myself a hack, Bob never said a bad word about me that I am aware of! lol

Tony, that was our little secret. It'll be cool this weekend to try and see what happens. The bender comes Friday.

Keep us all posted.
Which part was a secret, the hack part or the rippled sides? I knew about the hack part long ago!

Looking around for the supersoft, I found it for about $8 for 8 oz, but the shipping was $10 minimum and then for a quart, shipping is $16. Does anyone know of a place that ships cheaper?
Sheesh those guys.
