Did some more work today.
When I first received the kit I had accidentally split the back right down the center strip. So today I glued the back together. You can see in the picture it was actually split in the middle of the center zig zag strip, not where the glue joint is. After gluing it back together, it looks great! Phew!! I then glued in the center reinforcement strip, and notched out the paths for the braces along the center strip. I wish I had sanded the center strip pieces a little better prior to gluing them in, as I found it a bit difficult to sand them how I wanted, without damaging the back at all. But it worked out. Then I cut the braces to size and glued them in using notecard radius cauls. That went smoothly, so I went to work with a chisel on the ends of the braces, curving them into the edges. Planed the braces to shape, sanded it all smooth, and the back is done!

It looks like it separated right at a glue line on the zigzag strip. Luckily very cleanly along the same purling strip. It should stay together with the center reinforcement strip glued in place. Looks like like really clean good work.

As a precautionary measure I drizzle thin CA over the entire zigzag strip after I glue the halves together -- I am a bit puzzled why this happened -- but glad to see you had a very successful repair -- invisible is good!

The weekend allowed me to get a few more steps done. I glued the back on using the same method as for the top. Got the neck mortise cleared out using a flush cut bit. I also installed the tail wedge, routed the binding channels, and installed the binding using Titebond and brown binding tape. It looks like a guitar body! Exciting. Time to get the scraper ready!
