Well I hate to shine so brightly among such an august body of luminaries, BUT -
-I once stood down the street from Captain Kangaroo, who was emceeing the opening of a new street in Centerville, California, 1956. My brother Judd, who was 6 at the time (I was 8) actually won a $100 savings bond in a drawing and got to run over and get on the truck bed that the good Capt. was standing on and got the bond directly from the great man's hand.
-Ronda and I were staying one night in Carmel, California. That evening as the sun was lowering, we were walking the beach when a tanned gentleman ran beside us with his dog and gave us a big shiny smile, and said "did you see that otter playing over there?" - he was actually relaxed and happy. Martin Sheen.
Boom! There's your celebrities. LOL.
