The guy who commissioned the D28 style guitar from me just came over to take delivery. It was fun. He really did seem to like it.

Very Nice. Look's great sounds great. I think it will mellow as it ages and have a softer tone without losing it's power of course.

Thanks, I usually make smaller guitars. It sure is loud when played with a pick. The true banjo killer the dred was designed to be.

I can tell you this, it sounds better than my HD28V did!!! Even after 9 years it never had the "Drive" that guitar has. It will be better as it's played and breaks in and from the looks of things it WILL get played!
Fantastic, looks, sound...I certainly bow to you Sir!
If he isn't happy, call me...I know lots of people who will be!! :>)

Thanks Ray,

Jeff seems very happy with the guitar I got an Email from him yesterday. It was a very rewarding experience delivering the guitar and have the player really like it. I did put way more hours into it than would be economically feasible to do as a business.

I have a waiting list of people wanting me to build guitars for them. I find it strange as Seattle has a group of really good luthiers and I am not one of them. I cringe when I see the level of craft they have vs. my best. My wife said that maybe they are excited by a custom guitar, but are intimated to go to a real luthier. Maybe not feeling their playing deserves it ... It gave me pause, I remember when I went to the high end classical guitar store in seattle. While there I was totally embarrassed to be looking higher end classical guitars. The sales person a very good classical player, but not good enough to avoid being a sales person at the store made me feel so small. When I played a piece he asked " What is that piece? Such a simple piece that even a beginner can make sound good. I would like to have it for my beginning students.

Well I left and made my first guitar instead of buying one there.

Sorry I am mostly rambling with a gin and tonic at my desk ...

I understand, 50 years ago, I considered myself a fair guitarist....today, well...that's another reason I don't play as much as I used to...kind of an oxymoron I guess, maybe if I played more I'd get better...but these old hands aren't attached to my brain any more I'm thinkin'...there I go, doing that again...much of that and I have to take a nap! :>)
