Thanks John -- I agree with the idea of a blended heel and actually our cutaway kits have that feature, perpendicular to the sound-board -- this one a prototype. Dave Bagwll constructed one of the OM cutaways perhaps he has some pixs I've misplaced mine --duh!
Not much you can do with a simple bridge -- just made sense to me.
Setting action on a nylon string can be a little tricky -- I use the harder high tension strings which help to put in a little more neck relief -- in retrospect for a nylon string guitar I believe a two-way truss would have been a good idea since it would have allowed easier tweaking or this tiny bow. I set the action as if there was a zero fret, as mentioned height at the 12th fret can vary depending on the string that are used. I should mention that when I was getting paid to do set ups very little of the process had anything to do with specific meaurements. To me its all about getting the instrument easy t play at the 1st fret, then matching of the guitar, strings, playing style and player skills, customers left my shop happy.
