I use an old cloths iron on medium to high. Leave it over a damp cloth once its hot, and in less than 2 minutes, the plates were loose. If you have to use putty knives, I have a small boiler pot I got from walgreens for $10. Get the water boiling, and heat up 3-4 scraper/putty knives. As they start to cool, they are harder to work, so rotate them to keep warming them. Glue should turn to a taffy-like consistency and let go with little force.
