Post by rusty999 » Tue May 28, 2013 1:24 pm

Hello ken ,

Yes, It has inserts installed, I have the kerfing installed as well so just wondering if i should attempt to remove the block altogether and re set it. Would that make a mess I wonder.

Definately! positively! 100%!!! Remove and reposition that block you have a nightmare there.
Sorry ---- this is one time where I know you are heading for a train wreck.

Use a hot iron and a thin blade putty knife its not that hard. Scrape and completely remove any glue residue.

Good use of the lower case, Tim :-)

This is not a difficult procedure, be thankful you asked the question and got good answers! You will be very happy at the end.

Thanks guys, The panic has ceased and I got it separated no problem, wet cloth, hot clothes iron, hot putty knife/decorators knife that I kept hot in boiling water and a little patience,
. Thats the beauty of titebond original. The end block is glued in perfectly level so I may glue the heel block out of the mold this time and pop it back in when the glue gets tacky--would that work ?

Thanks again
Rusty

Pop it back into the mold?? Why?

Did you not see this?

The idea is to make sure the top edge of the rim and both blocks are on the same "flat level plane" Shape means nothing at this time.
