Good idea. I ended up buying a new $9 Rival hotpot express and it works fine as well - it has the slight advantage of having heat settings 1-10 so once you have the setting you can mark it on the pot and always have consistency.

I have a Crock Pot Lil' Dipper I've been saving for use as a glue pot. It doesn't have a temp control but keeps liquids in the 135-150 range - should work well I think.
