Walnut and curly redwood OM
It's been awhile since I posted anything. I've had a hard time in the past posting pics. Hopefully this problem has been resolved with an iPad purchase. I started working on a walnut and curly redwood florentine cutaway. Progress has been slow. Between work and kids activities there is not much time for guitar building. The upside is this guitar already has a buyer. He's letting me do what I want with it, within reason. I also told him if he doesn't like it he can wait for one that he does like. I think he'll like this one though. Anyway, here are some pics of the top, back, the rim mostly complete and the rosette done but not completely cleaned up.

Fancy rosette there Kyle. Looks very nice.
That top will be a looker under the finish.

Killer rosette Kyle! I really like it. It looks like you glued the rosette to a backer board, am I right? What was the reason for that? I do it if I am making a tile rosette, but if I have a solid ring, I don't bother. I just double stick tape it to the work board while I cut it out.
That is a beautiful looking top. Where did you get it? I might need one.

Thanks for the kind words. Tony, I didn't have a piece of walnut large enough to cut a ring out of so I used the strip left over from the sides. Glued the strips together instead of making up tiles to make a radial rosette. The top I got from another forums classifieds section.
