Kevin - I would completely and utterly not even worry about it. No difference in sound, none visually, none structurally, will not affect playability? Don't get me wrong, I have always admired your craftsmanship and dedication. And I could use more of both of those virtues. But I don't think I could, temperamentally, go that particular extra mile.

Kevin, the guitar is looking good, I like your idea to index the back. But there is no way you can remain in the club if you do not widen the slots and move the top. You idea sounds fine. If it was normal kerfed lining I would chisel and replace the wrongly cut ones and recut the slots. I would do it just like you are describing if I was using solid or a reverse kerfed lining.

Oh man, I will never be accepted in the club!!!! :-)
Unless someone looks inside, they will not notice the repair to the kerfing, I suppose, it being < 1/4".

I was trying to figure out what the dub was then I put my glasses on and realized you were talking about the club. I probably won't get in either!

I moved the top up into the correct position tonight and filled in "pretty well" the spaces left in notches for the brace ends.
I was pretty sloppy on this fitting. A couple of my notches are dangerously deep in the sides too. Arg...I'm usually very careful and have a tight fit. I don't see a problem with the binding covering these, but I'll probably want to fill the spaces with some rosewood before I glue the bindings on. Oh well, none of this will show so......
