The cone basket has been leveled with the back rim and the body is now ready to close up.

Dave the sides & back are single layer Birch laminate approximately 1/8" thick. You may be referring to the top edge overhang? I set my jig up using my Short Mountain Liberty Dobro and this created a slight overhang of the top, which will be routed off before cutiing the binding channels.

The next step was leveling the spider fingers to make proper contact with the rez cone. Slight adjustments can be made by carefully bending the fingers, but this method is prone to breakage. I used a sheet of sandpaper taped to a glass-top table for this. The second picture shows the underside of the fingers with the sanded flat surface tips starting to appear.

ARRG, I'm having trouble posting pictures. Sometime you have to download the. Othertimes they appear by themselves.

This type of build is way over my head so I can’t comment on the technical aspects but the workmanship is superior. Very, very nice. Your craftsmanship is outstanding.

Great pictures.
