Finally made some progress, leveled and polished the body with 800 wet /dry (came out decent not pefectly dead flat though)and then worked up through the micro mesh and it started to shine. It had been about 9 days since I painted it, so I figured I would try and buff it. It buffed out beautifully with the compounds I normally use on motorcycle paint work. Got the frets in the fret board, glued the fretboard to the neck, and also ended up inlaying the abalone clovers in the bridge wings. Finally feel like I will make my deadline on this project.

Congrats - it looks fantastic! Great quality photos too. The gloss finish is very impressive. I'm certainly a fan of copying good techniques, so it would be very useful for me or other folks who use brush-on nitro to have all the steps (not including the z-poxy) in one place. If I understand correctly from your previous posts, you did the following (please fix any details I've missed or gotten wrong)
- Used Deft brushing lacquer
- Applied 3 coats (Did you brush the entire body at one session or just the top, back or sides, and then let that part dry before doing another surface?)
- Level sanded (with 800 wet/dry? Did you sand it wet and if so, using water with a drop of dish detergent?)
- Applied 3 more coats
- Was there any level-sanding at this point or did you just let it cure for the 9 days?
- Wait 9 days
- Level with 800 W/D
- Buff with automotive rubbing and polishing compound
