Thanks all for the positive comments.

I think I am going to get a chance to record a real bass player playing it. I will post a link when I have it.

G---------------------------------------
D-----------------------------2---------
A---------0-1-2-2/4-5-4-2-0-----4-2-----
E-0-2-3-4-------------------4--------0--

There you go. The part of the song people recognize. Repeat that two, three times and smile.
The back of that bass is so sweet. I really like it.

Tony I tried to play it :) instead

I took the bass over to a professional bass player in Seattle. The guitar has a good unamplified sound including a great low E. Overall at least while he played the strings had good balance. He played some amazing sounding notes while playing high on the neck, he said it was the sound one looks for from a fretless instrument.
Listening to a really good base player play the guitar was fun It was amazing to hear the resonance of an acoustic instrument with the bass licks he was playing. He is keeping the guitar for a couple of weeks and is going to use it in a performace with some of his students. So I will get a recording of him playing it.

That is one terrific looking bass guitar. Love to hear the sound clip when it's done.

I sold this bass last week. My first sale of a guitar. I lent him the instrument for a couple of month before it was purchased. He liked because it could hold its own unamplified when he played with a friend with a Martin dread. I did not make a killing. But I more than covered my material costs.

Ahh yes, that first sale is almost as sweet as hearing the first notes on that first guitar (but not quite):)
